[“A STORY OF THE ALHAMBRA”]
Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano
The inspiration for this piece is the Alhambra, the monumental complex located in Granada (Andalucía, Spain). The story begins with a young guitarist, represented by the piano, whom we find sadly playing his guitar right in front of the walls of the Alhambra. Through his voice and his guitar, he tries to send a message of love to his beloved who is held captive inside the palace.
One night, as the young man plays his guitar in a magical way, a gust of wind manages to catch those musical notes, which begin to fly over every grand corner of the Alhambra until dawn arrives and those notes manage to enter the palace gardens, where his beloved is sorrowfully strolling. Unexpectedly, the young woman recognizes the melody driven by the wind that carries a message of love from her beloved. In an explosion of joy, she begins to dance and embrace the wind with a joy never before seen on her face: her lover is alive and, thanks to the music she has received his message.
After this magical moment, the wind once again carries those musical notes over the entire city of Granada until it vanishes into the infinite.
Music has managed to unite their hearts forever.
